Chris Powell lays down a laid-back Street2 ReMix that is very soundtrack-ish, slow, and deliberate. Electric piano (or could be a really muted piano), great sax, minimalistic drums, strings, and the great mono-slide sinewave synth we all know and love combine with a syncopated slow jam style in a ReMix I think Yuzo would appreciate. The variation in the ending is really well sequenced, and the whole piece is consistent in feel and tone. Worth it for any SoR or Yuzo fans, and anyone else into more sedate stuff. Nice.

Nice mellow tune here. I love the sounds here: chill piano, wonderful sine lead, smooth strings, and a fat sax to top it off. All playing above a slow, subtle beat.
2:00 the climax here pulls the entire mix together before the ending.

While I really appreciate this mix's methodicalness, pacing, and mood, I don't really care for the saxophone samples nor really the sound scape itself. It doesn't really feels like it does a whole lot, not quite exactly spinning its wheels but... I dunno. Maybe this track just isn't clicking with me. The ending is especially blah with the sax repeating itself over and over.
Anyway, I personally don't really care for this track.

The volume levels need to be raised overall - it sounds too faint. This is a kinda nifty mix, but I felt more could've been done with it for as slowly as it progresses through the melody, especially with that extended ending.

very awesome mix, focuses a bit more on the 'streets' than on the 'rage.' kind of a different take on the beat-em-up game, and I like it a lot. good work!

I really like this mix. Sounds are nice, and everything meshes quite well together. More people should be getting this one.

The intro. Integral in every game. It was handled perfectly here, so perfect in fact, that when I made my SOR2 cd, I added this next to the original intro song, back to back. A perfect rendition of said intro. Don't miss this.

Very classy mix. The sax is sequenced nicely and the counterpoint synth is PERFECT. A very somber mix, beautifully done.
Highly recommended.

very nice..i hear you played around a bit with the piano chords, and it turned out pretty cool. the flute reminds me of a beautiful tuxedo moon song called in a manner of speaking..

Wow I really love this song. I'm glad you took one of the few slow/sad songs and made a jazzmix out of it, instead of using one of the upbeat themes. The sax is very good in this, and the strings in the background are very nice too! This was one of my favourite themes anyway so Kudos on making such a superb mix for it!!

Streets of Rage 2 is probably the last game that needs it, but it's good to have another decent non-techno remix. I'm not sure if I'd really call this 'jazz', but it's mellow and fun enough. Any of you anti-techno, 'I run when I hear an artificial base beat' crowd should like this. 7/8

While smooth and mellow as Saunders says, there is also that element of chill brought out by that wonderful flute sounding sample, similarly experienced in feeling with what Avien's FF3 'Winds of Eternity' brings (see what people are raving about it here).
Streets Of Rage 2 Ost
2:00 is my favorite part, as it strays into another melody, and is a nice change from the rest. I've never played the game but I've heard some of the original music, and all of it is exactly the opposite of this genre. Therefore much must have been done with this, and with the FF3 'Mix sounding similar, we can tell Avien sure likes this type of music!

Streets of Rage 2 'Da Streets'
Piano and saxophone. Nice mellow mix, but not my style, I don't really dig it personally. Well done though.

Rage 2 Soundtrack
Yuzo Koshiro continued his work from the original, by introducing more early 90s influences such as The Shamen, into the soundtrack. Mixing in flashes of rave and trance, Streets of Rage II is as maybe more renowned for the soundtrack than the awesome gameplay. What is strange for 8 bit conversions was that Yuzo Koshiro also handled those soundtracks too (Coming off of his work on Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System and Game Gear).
